Welcome to Tamsin Fisher Counselling and Coaching

A Space to be Heard. A Space to Move Forward.

About Me

Hi, I’m Tamsin. I’m a qualified integrative counsellor and coach, working with people who want greater clarity, understanding, and agency in their lives. I have experience supporting a diverse range of clients. My interest in this work began through studying psychology at university and has continued to develop through ongoing training, practice, and reflection.

Before training as a counsellor and coach, I worked across a range of roles within the business, health, and education sectors. This experience informs how I work, giving me insight into different organisational cultures, pressures, and ways of living and working, as well as the personal impact of change, responsibility, and transition.

I support people in different ways, depending on what they need. Some come for counselling — to be heard, to make sense of their experiences, and to better understand themselves. Others come for coaching — to reflect, gain clarity, and move forward with intention. For some, the work sits somewhere between the two.

My approach is thoughtful, flexible, and tailored to you. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all way of working. Instead, I aim to offer a space that feels purposeful, supportive, and centred on what will be most helpful for you.

How Might Counselling Help You?

The idea of sitting opposite a stranger and sharing your vulnerabilities, fears, hopes, and uncertainties can feel daunting. It often takes courage to take that first step, and it’s completely natural to feel unsure.

I am a humanistic counsellor and work from the belief that each person has an innate capacity for growth and self-understanding. My role is not to give you answers, but to offer a confidential, supportive space where you can explore what is happening for you, at your own pace.

In a fast-paced world, it can be difficult to slow down and really reflect on how you are feeling. You might feel unsettled, stuck, or unsure about your life or relationships. Sometimes, you may not be looking for solutions — just to be truly listened to and understood. Often, being heard in this way can be deeply meaningful in itself.

Counselling can support you in developing greater self-awareness and understanding the different parts of yourself. Often, learning to accept ourselves more fully can bring a sense of relief and clarity.

I practise as an integrative counsellor, combining different therapeutic approaches to meet the individual needs of each client. I may offer gentle challenge at times, helping you to notice patterns or see things from a different perspective. Many of us operate on ‘autopilot’, shaped by earlier experiences, relationships, and expectations. Counselling offers a space to explore these influences and how they continue to affect you now.

You don’t need to arrive with clear goals or a plan. Some people come knowing exactly what they want to talk about; others simply know that something doesn’t feel right. We will work at your pace, focusing on what feels most important for you to bring into the space.

How Might Coaching Help You?

Coaching may be a good fit for you if you know something needs to change — not because everything is falling apart, but because the way you are currently living, working, or showing up no longer feels right.

You might feel caught between what you’ve outgrown and what comes next. You may be at a transition point in your life or career, questioning your direction, your identity, or the choices in front of you. This could be linked to a specific change, or it may be a more internal sense that the way you’ve been living no longer fits.

Coaching offers a structured space to examine what’s shaping your decisions, identify what may be holding you back, and begin to move forward with greater intention.

My work focuses on supporting people to become more intentional, more self-directed, and more visible in their own lives — clearer about what matters to them and more able to act on it.

My approach is collaborative, reflective, structured, and forward-focused. Sessions are a place to think clearly, question assumptions, and examine what is shaping your choices. We work with patterns, beliefs, and identity — not just what you do, but how you relate to yourself and your decisions.

I won’t tell you what to do.

I will help you become clearer about what you want to do — and why.

You can expect our work to be:

• Thoughtful

• Direct

• Collaborative

• Practical

• Focused on change

• Empowering

Also to explore which approach may fit with your current needs. The relationship with the therapist/coach is one of the most important factors in achieving a successful outcome so it is really important that you feeI comfortable with your chosen therapist/coach.

Fees & Location

Counselling sessions last 50 minutes and usually take place weekly at a regular time. Sessions are available face-to-face in my counselling room in Stow-on-the-Wold. Online sessions are also available. Most people find that between 6–12 counselling sessions are helpful, although there is no set limit and we can review this together as we go.

Coaching sessions are usually 90 minutes, though this can be adapted to suit your needs. Most people choose to meet around once a month, allowing time for reflection and change between sessions. Many find that around six sessions is sufficient, with the option of further ad-hoc sessions if helpful. sessions can take place in person or online.
